Dahon 8 Speed Cassettes

I'm considering changing the cassette on my Dahon Speed P8 and Mu P8. Both have Shimano Hyperglide 11-32t cassettes. A search of the internet last night came up short on these things. Guess the whole world is going to 9, 10, and now 11 speed.

I'm moving to an area which is hilly however not as hilly as what I'm in now.

Any recommendations for a rear cassette? One that'll work with a typical HG chain and the front chainring. I don't want to change it all.

The 11-32 range is pretty sweet for me.

What's the difference between HG40 and HG50?

quality. you can pop on any shimano, sram or suntour 8sp cassette on there.

I don't remember, but HG40 was 8sp tiagra level and HG50 was 9sp tiagra level. There's also HG30, which is sora level.

FWIW, I wouldn't change until you wear out the cassette. Spacing won't be all that different with a narrower cassette, and you could always end up doing a hilly ride anyway.

Pretty sure SRAM has some compatible and good quality 8 speed cassettes. They'll likely be in the MTB lineup instead of road.
