Dahon rack on a Friday
Bike Friday's front pannier rack is pretty pricey ... has anyone had luck putting a Dahon rack (at half the price) on a Friday?

I don't have my Dahon here in CA, but the difference between the Friday and the Dahon would likely be the holes (or in the case of the Dahon I think, a single hole) in the top of the fork. My NWT has two sets of holes: The upper one is threaded and only on the back side, just below the head tube and is for mounting the front fender. Two slightly lower holes are on the front and back side of the fork, not threaded and, I think, are for Caliper Brakes.
From the Dahon website pictures, it looks like they only have the latter set of holes mentioned above. The front V-brakes are pretty similar in my experience, so the Dahon rack might just work. FYI: The BF rack looks to have four mounting points (two on each side of the fork) vs. the Dahon's three mounting points, and it looks like the BF rack will pack flat with removal of the two spacer screws. The Dahon rack cannot be compacted for travel. |
