If by "commuting" you mean "able to stash on an excessively packed bus or train", the Brompton is obviously a good choice there.
But for me, "commuting" means "biking a fair distance to work, followed by stashing the bike in my office". And for that the Tikit is a much better bike. Work for me is a good 20 miles away, mostly uphill, and in traffic environments necessitating good brakes. It's not a contest: for any distance over, say, 5 miles, the Tikit's superior rideability is a big deal to me.
