Hypoglycaemia

Hi folks,

On our ride yday, one of our riders on a Speed 8 blacked out and fell off his bike. When he didnt catch up, I turned around to back track only to see him laying motionless on the side of the bike path and his new bike on its side.

Good thing it wasnt serious and he recovered after eating some food and drink. He apparently did not have breakfast and got Hypoglycaemic - low sugar level. A reminder to eat something before your ride. Ours was a 55km one but only 15km it hit him.

If you want to read more about it...

My question here is has this ever happen to you or your mates before?

I am not insulin dependent, but own and use a Contour meter now and then.

You don't have to be diabetic to get one.
