How much would you pay for this Dahon?

This bike is for sale locally and I am thinking about picking it up tomorrow. I am not a folding bike aficionado so I was hoping someone might throw out some figures of what they think it would be worth...

Thanks all.

Looks like a nicely cleaned up Stoway 20". Those are some groovy tires. I would say anything under $100 is pretty good. Especially considering the nice condition. What are they asking?

adamlee 08-11-09 08:23 PM

They are asking $125 but I am trying to talk them down to $80. I don't want to insult them because I really don't know the history of these bikes and they obviously do and have taken care of it.

I don't know why, but I really like those orange tires with that funky blue frame! :)

It's very clean looking and easily would take it for 1 bill. I've seen $50 jobbies that are rusty and in crap condition.

On ebay they generally are selling in the $80-100 range plus shipping. Bargain with him some, but even his asking price is pretty reasonable.

The more I look at it, the more I am liking the colors also. If cleaned up the mechanicals as good as the cosmetic, that is a sweet little ride.

Go for it, you'll have fun and get a kick out to the comments and stares it will attract.

hmmmm its ugly
than on the second thought.... wait
in its own way ..... sophisticated elegant ....
urban .... simplicity ....

nice bike ... go for 80 and see what you can do it cost upwards of 30 to ship them anywhere

I like the little patriotic flag in the rear spokes.

Reminds me as a kid we would use clothes pins to clip playing cards to the spokes for the cool sound.

I keep going back and forth on this bike. It both ugly and charming. But I also used to own a 1974 Pumpkin Orange VW Thing.

Mmm VW Things rock!
I think the orange and kingfisher blue work really well. Makes a hella more of a statement than black tyres do. I'd get it - heck - you can always sell it. Or get more sober tyres if you can't stand the attention they will undoubtedly draw...

Thanks for the responses.
I am going to take it for a spin this evening and see what happens. I'll be honest, without the orange tires it probably wouldn't have caught my eye. The blue is more off-putting, IMO. I'll probably swap the black components for white if I end up landing the deal.

That is half the fun of any bike. Pimping it out to your tastes after you get. Post photos after you do.
