Simple frame clip for Brompton?
Afternoon,
I picked up an old Brompton last week after years of curiosity, it's an L5 with the SA Sprinter 5 speed hub.
Just put on a pair of Schwalbe Kojaks and it rides well.
Looking back at threads and pictures I have seen a simple curved clip that is held by the seat post clamp bolt and clips over the rear frame to hold it in place when lifted.
I've seen reference to Merc having made these clips, but I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I know Brompton have the new design that has a built in locking mechanism but I'd rather not spend £23 if I can help it...I know, I'm tight.
Many Thanks.

Spa Cycles did the clip before Merc. They probably still have a few left but the Brompton QR clip is much better.

Martin Bronsdon, on the Yahoo BromptonTalk list, did them. Sign up for the list (if you haven't already), and search for "Bronsdon clip."

you can make one with some extruded 15mm aluminium strip and a pair of round-nosed pliers...
That's what I did when my Merc one snapped (as it will eventually)

Did I have a Blue Peter Badge? No - but I watched 'The Great Egg Race' religiously..
