How to replace rear derrailer cable on Dahon D7?
This morning my rear derailler cable snapped after 7400 miles of good use. I have found some websites that explain the overall process. But how do I access the cable at the grip-shift part? How do I open that housing?

This is a complex procedure. Some shifters are easier than other to change cable. Here is the SRAM procedure which does not require opening the shifter

I think my D7 does not need to be taken apart. There is an access hole in the shifter. I was able to pull the old cable out through it. But I tried unsuccessfully to thread my new cable through it. I think this is a job for the LBS. I will take it to them tomorrow.
