How to replace rear derrailer cable on Dahon D7?

This morning my rear derailler cable snapped after 7400 miles of good use. I have found some websites that explain the overall process. But how do I access the cable at the grip-shift part? How do I open that housing?

Will this help...

I think my D7 does not need to be taken apart. There is an access hole in the shifter. I was able to pull the old cable out through it. But I tried unsuccessfully to thread my new cable through it. I think this is a job for the LBS. I will take it to them tomorrow.

I think it is about fnding the right position for the shifter whe you try. To remowe almost any positon will do, but to insert a new one the right position is important. Try first or last gear.
