Downtube 8H rear spoke replacement
 

Recently, I broke a rear drive side spoke on my Downtube 8H.
Does anyone know what length and gauge are these spokes? I need to know the lengths of both drive and non-drive side spoke lengths, just in case any non-drive spoke is about to break too.

IMO, low spoke count wheels are one of the flaws of the Downtubes. Their web site says they do it to save weight, but really, how much do eight extra spokes per wheel weigh???

Why not just measure it with a ruler?

I wrote Yan an email and am still waiting for an answer. I have also removed a pair of spokes to measure. However I am no too sure if the length is taken from the center of the spoke holes at the hub to the very end of the threaded end.

I am also in the dark regarding the spoke diameters. Without a proper tool, my guess is 14 gauge or 2 mm but it can very well be 15 gauge or 1.8 mm.

I have also found a few spoke calculators online but being a newbie and without measuring devices such as calipers, these calculators presents more questions than I am able to answer.

Edit:
I have found that popular spoke gauges are 14 and 15. When I placed the Downtube spokes against the spokes on my beater bike, 1978 AllPro Three Speed, the Downtube spokes are slightly thinner. Does that mean that the Downtube spokes are 15 gauge???
