Back riding the Brompton again!

(I’ve not had internet access for a few days).

I'd Just like to say that I finally got to use my Brompton again last Saturday after not riding for ten weeks due to the broken collar bone and ribs (crashed a motorbike 20 Sep.) I really missed not being able to ride. It was great to be back on the bike. I took it steady at first but soon got back into it. One thing I did notice was just how unfit I felt.... possibly also due to a chest infection from not being able to breathe properly because of the painful ribs.

I had to take my Toyota Hilux / 4 runner for its MOT test so dropped it off at the garage and then rode to the railway station to get the train home. I then repeated the journey 3 hours later...... and yes the truck passed its test :thumb:

So Saturday was a special day for me... driving and riding again for the first time since the accident.:D

I have not had chance to take the Bridgestone Moulton out yet as I need a bit more time to build up my strength again with the Brompton....... and it has done nothing but rain for the last month so the Moulton is staying inside the house for now.

Welcome back! Glad you are able to bike after an accident like you described.

Broken collar bone and ribs on September 20th, and back on the bike in early December? You're doing good!

It will take you a while to get your strength and endurance back, but there's nothing to do about that but keep riding.

Hope that your recovery continues to go smoothly!

I was thinking of buying a motorbike during last summer but it seems like everyone that ownes one has been in an accident. I can't take anymore risks at this point in my life but I'm glad the OP is recovering.

I've not had internet access for weeks! Bought a mobile dongle, which didn't get a 3G signal, only GPRS, which it refused to use. The FAQs say "...only 3G and HSDPA in order to provide the high quality service you expect..."

I expected poor service, not none at all! :crash:

I'm finally in my new flat, which has an HSDPA signal,:thumb: but no landline until February at least, while BT and the council argue over digging up the road.

Anyway, moving on, glad to hear you're back on the bike.
