Do what have the same triangle?

The tikit's rear triangle is totally different from any other BF bikes. It's self-contained. In contrast, the NWT and other BF bikes pivot on their cranks.

oh i just wanted to know if the Tikit has different frame geometry than NWT or Pocket for me to be able to add the FD. looking at my bike folded it looks like there might be a problem with the folding of the bike. FD might not be doable with the Tikit2. anyway here's a pic of my tikit at work. small enough to fit in my office.

The only way to add a front derailleur to the Tikit, except a notorious hack off of a board in Taiwan, is to add a braze-on. :-( BF informs me that they only sell whole triangles with that braze-on and it's not cheap.

You will meet the real me as I was in 1964 (not the online avatar at left or your previous bad attempts at humor), some family members (including the one you already met online), and someone who became lost in a frenzy of a media circus after her untimely death. Then you might be properly educated enough in some limited ideas of my family's identity and place in our real time community in the past (although I doubt it).

As for the bike discussion here, I see a real future for the upscale market for performance bikes like the tikit offers assuming that the economy improves much more. If the economy slides downward again (more likely), I see Dahon's sales climbing up over everybody else because of simple price concerns coming from unemployment, underemployment, or a complete return to simple frugality.

You really think people believe that your family came to your rescue because they didn't like the tone of the conversation? Your identical writing skills are a dead giveaway as to who wrote those posts. Take care dude.

For larger riders this means riding a small bike with a setback seatpost and long stem. If you tried to sell one size of diamond frame [small] bike and only swapped in different seatposts and stems bigger folks wouldn't be happy.

As you mention in your post above you can get the Tikit in 3 frame sizes and then you can use any seatpost. stem, saddle and bars you want. The result is you can setup the bike t fit in the same ways you would fit a standard non-folding diamond frame bike. Having tried many folders this is a very attractive feature because it means you can dial the bike in exactly how you'd like.

Having said that not everyone has issues fitting on a typical folder and not everyone really cares about how the bike fits. If you are riding 1km at either end of a multimodal commute you can probably jump on any bike and make it just fine.

I care because I don't ride my Tikit like a folder. I ride it just like any other bike I own. I hammer away from lights. I go up and down curbs. I've commuted 25kms on way on it. Carried bike frames on the rear rack to the post office....

If you are stoked with your Dahon or Brompton - wicked! I wouldn't suggest for a moment you should think about a Tikit. Ride your bike. Have fun...
Thanks for the post Vik. I like your positive attitude and how you're very upbeat about your bike w/out having to thrash other brands. I've found the Brompton to push itself into my daily lineup. While it would clearly be the best bike to ride if you're just riding 1 or 2 miles (b/c you can fold it into a useful package), I've done my regular 12 mile commutes. It's also my bike of choice for getting to the tennis courts as I can fit all my gear in the c-bag and ride wearing my tennis shoes!

The standard seat pillar surely can't satisfy anyone with even a 32" inseam, though Brompton's website gives a different figure. I'm amazed every dealer doesn't carry one.

I remain interested in the Brompton only because of how superior their options and coordinate pricing are relative to Bike Friday's. Well, that and the fold. I still agree with someone who said elsewhere on this forum, "A tall person looks daft on an S-type."
I don't know what part of the world you live in but Foldabikes near San Francisco and Clevercycles stock telescoping seatposts.
I find I can manage w/ the standard seatpost w/ it extended all the way out; my inseam is 31 inches. I did try an extended post and found it didn't add much to the ride. The handlebars are not readily interchangeable. Even when ordering spare cables, you have to specify which one you want. Yeah, it's a pain.

Every now and then I'll get a laugh or giggle when I'm riding the Brompton. I have no doubt that I look like some sort of circus bear doing tricks on a bike.
I even had a group of cyclists pass me by ask if I had any gears (it has an internal hub). But on the other hand, I've gotten a lot of thumbs up, and lot of respect from other cyclists who were really interested in it and that I was riding it up and down the same hills that they were in their racing bikes. And, I get a lot of whispers and pointing "he's got a bike! look! it's all folded up!" whenever I take my Brompton in with me. With that said, I think you have to make sure you're okay w/ the fit. For me, if I were to order a Tikit, I'd have to give them my Brompton's measurements as I'm that comfortable on it!

Ive found that the Bromptons all seem to come from factory with the saddle Penta Clip at its lowest point on the seat tube and that the saddle rails are mounted on bottom of Clip. If you move the Clip to the highest point on post and move the saddle rails to the top position on the Penta Clip you can gain about an extra 2" of saddle height from factory setting. Also using a Brooks saddle will gain you a little more as they are taller than most saddles. Up to 1/2" over some.
Im only 6ft tall but i have a longer PBH(inseam) than most people quite a bit taller than me(34.8") and im quite comfortable with legs extended correctly where they need to be. So some folks taller than me should be good without extended post.
No im not some freak of nature, lol. Actually i used to be taller but due to screwed up discs etc. and old age (64) my upper body has shrunk shorter over the years. Anyway hope this might help someone.

Hmmmm, all this Tikit discussions is making me buy one. Might try one in bfold today. Don't really use the brommie for commuting so folding speed will be better for me than folding size.

yes. definitely - you need to try one. you'll get hook though i warned you. i just had my Tikit for couple of weeks and i am finding as the my riding goes by, that this is really a nice bike. i mean really nice...the ride, gearings, components, especially the ease of folding the bike. how can you beat 5 second folding.

Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.

Even without the hyperfold feature, the Tikit is a very quick fold. Highly recommended.
