Saw a BMX with an extended saddle and crusier bars in York the other day. It looked OK.

I just acquired a Fuji folding bike-- one of the Marlboro-branded bikes, ya know?-- and have plans for it. Big plans.
<<whrings hands menacingly>>Mwaahaaahaaahaaahaaa!!! In all seriousness, I do have plans for it. I'm thinking I can build a set of 650s for it, and set it up as a tringle: Triple up front and SS in the rear, with a tensioner. The frames are actually a reasonable-quality piece of kit, but everything that went on there was apparently forged out of 100% Pacific Rim Genuine Effin' Heavy. Just going through and replacing the steel parts with aluminum will make a huge difference, and of course getting rid of the freewheel and rear derailleur will save me close to two pounds all by itself. It's not a terribly big frame, and I'm pretty tall (6'3", 230); I'm going to kind of look like a bear on a unicycle on the thing, but who cares? I've got a pretty long Thompson seatpost that fits just fine, and since I've already decided I don't care what I look like on the bike, I reckon a set of North Road barson a Technomic stem is in order. Bar-Con for the front der on the left side of the bar, Tektro reverse lever on the right side for the front brake, and I should be good to go. Maybe a set of Oury grips for street cred. |
