Repairing or replacing the crank on my Dahon Jane (Curve)
About 3 months ago, I bought a Dahon Jane in China which is a close copy of the Curve D3. I have grown very fond of my GF "Jane". Unfortunately today, the crank arm on the chain ring side got slightly bent and twisted towards the chain ring by about a 1/2 inch. Is it possible to gently bend the arm back to its original location?
If it can't be repaired, does the Curve use a standard crank or do I need to buy a crank from the Dahon. I live in Thailand which might make it tougher and quite expensive if it doesn't use a standard crank.

It's probably a standard 46 tooth chainwheel, 170mm long crank if it's the same as the Curve. A common 'square taper' fit. You can fit another brand, but you will lose the plastic chainguard.
If you bend the arm back it may snap in the process, and might be already damaged beyond use. Dahon dealers can get you a spare, or, a mechanic can replace it.
If the crank is bent by that much there's a chance that the revolving spindle it sits on is also bent, and/ or there's damage; cracks or twist to the frame. It would be wise to have it checked by a Dahon-familiar mechanic if you can find one.
How did it become damaged?
