Classic Mini-velo

Alas, it's finally complete!
This bike has undergone some major transformation. Started off as a Formula 1 BMX bike I picked up cheap. Stripped off every component, turned it into a fun cruiser. Now, I present to you this lean mean road machine...

Frameset: SKYLINE Formula One BMX
Cranks: Pake 165mm cranks with 53t chainring
Wheels: 451mm rims with 20X 1 1/8 Kenda high pressure tires
Pedals: Shimano PD-A550
Saddle: Wrights W3N
Handlebar: Sakae Road Champion
Bar Tape: BBB Aluminum Tape
Brake Levers: Tektro R200
Brakes: Generic BMX calipers

When I first bought it

with saddle bag

Everything came to be just under $200...

Very sweet indeed... Can imagine it tearing up the asphalt!

Very nice and especially for the budget.

Really nice, special_k. Reminds me I should have bought the Cannondale Hooligan after I test rode it.

Thanks! I'm looking for a suitcase within regulation size that'll fit the bike. I built the bike so I can bring it with me as a checked luggage.
I'll try to take pics of me on the bike.

You should be able to ship it cheaply since even though it can't break down like a folder, it should be seen as a kid's bike!

The F1 BMX bikes made in the late 1980s were designed for parking lot races. It never really caught on and there are only a few hundred of those bikes in existence today.

ust cut down a cardboard box to fit the bike. 34"X 20"X8".
It's a really tight fit and the box bulges a little around the edges, but hopefully I won't get dinged!
