The fender is a cheap one I found at a Chinese web store (aliexpress.com) maybe you know it, it's an amazon-like store with world wide shipping... search for 20 inch folding fender, and you'll see plenty of options... mine costed 13USD the pair with free shipping (the kit comes with front and rear fender) like this:

How do you like your D7i now that you have had it awhile? Any pros or cons?

I just bought a Adventurer 6 speed and a 12 speed for me and my wife. Got them at camping world. I know there not the greatest, but I needed a bike, and these fit in the trailer and no rack is needed. I made the decision to leave my Jamis Commuter II, and the wife's cruiser, and our front receiver mounted Swagman rack in storage. I did this because I believe it was causing my truck to run hot, plus it destroying the bikes with the road grime,rocks, and bugs. We've traveled 30,000 miles this year. So I made the decision to leave them at my mom's house. Big mistake. I missed the bikes for exercise, running errands, and running our big Chocolate Lab, and since northern California is a long way from where were at now (Pennsylvania ) it didn't make since to go back and get them. So here we are with 2 new folders. I'm actually impressed how nice of a ride it is. I don't plan on riding it much on the roads, but around the campgrounds,resorts, and city bike trails, will be fun.

I have an old 70's raleigh compact, its been modified a bit but it still has the original 3 speed sturmey archer gears and I have gone back to steel rims after breaking 2 alloy rears, if it has one drawback its heavy but I need a strong bike as I mainly ride old rail trails and canal towpaths.

I became proud owner of a Mezzo about a week ago. It came with a cheap saddle. I will upgrade to a Vel Plush soon. Also i would like to get a suspension seatpost as the bumps hurt my behind.
Any recommendations? I read that suntour is good. I saw they can be very expensive though.

Taz, Do you still have silver Birdy? I would be interested in it if it is just sitting. I would ride it.

If you get a konga telescopic seatpost of ebay you can then insert a standard length suspension seatpost on your mezzo.

I'm looking at buying my first folding bike now, am looking at Dahon's as they seem to be the most respected brand. Is this correct? I want to purchase one of the best folding bikes really... I've been reading reviews on this website Best Folding Bikes - Reviews and all of the Dahon ones seem to be the highest rated...

Hello there LotsaBS, sorry for not getting back to you earlier.
It is a rather nice little folder, i would not substitute a fully sized bike with it though - but it keeps me happy for the time being.
I meant to also get a fully sized bike - but for now i am covered with the Tern - i will eventually buy a normal bike as well but the Tern has postponed this purchase for now.
Now about the Tern - i folds very easy and quick, it has fantastic build quality and the rear gear hub is a charm, i really enjoy shifting through the gears without thinking about it.

Hi all

I have several folding bikes
My first one was the Dahon Eco (d7, red)
My second one was the Miami Citizen Bike (actually is one of my preferred bikes)(yes, a little heavy)
My third one was the Tokio Citizen Bike (16" a compact beauty, very portable, but let's be honest ... slooooooow)
The fourth one was the Origami Cricket (amazing bike for the price, dual suspension, disk brakes under 30 pounds!)

My daughter has the Origami, I keep the Tokio under my desk at work, and the Dahon is the wife's preferred one. The Miami Citizen bike is the one I use the most. If I had the option of comparing all of them before buying, I think I would have stayed with the Miami. Very very solid, good ride, good folding size, nicely fit with rack, fenders, very good looking.

Right now I am looking at the new Vilano 26" folding ...
Correction: bought this one instead in Amazon Allen Sports XWay
(more than one month for delivery)

Raleigh R S W Compact Mark I circa 1965. More or less original save for an upgraded seat (period Brooks B72) and upgrade (1979) hub brake. I have the beautiful tartan 'shopper' rear bag as well. Amazingly original given it's been around over half a century.

I'm riding a 20 inch folder that has been sold under many names and built all over Europe. It has been called the Dino, the Ferrari , the People's bike and sold under many more names. I like it but it is a one speed. The 20 inch wheels are as small as I care to go. I've owned two Dahons that were not all that good in my opinion. The best folder I ever had was sold by Firestone with twenty inch wheels and a frame that was a rectangular beam that looked almost like a two by four in size. It was solid, quite and very easy to pedal and durable as well. I brought that bike about 1969.

I have the Apollo tuck, but just bought a new yesterday for getting to work and Its awesome, I shopped for ages but ended up buying bromton.

I picked up this Dahon Speed 4130 7 speed about a week ago, put new tires on it and re-greased all the bearings and threw on the seat I had lying around. I have $210 in it, what do you guy's think? I like it so far but its been raining so much I haven't done a good long ride on it yet. Well nothing over several hundred yards actually.
