Hi all....just beginning to research folders, came across this thread and have a question. I know these have folding pedals. I'm assuming I can replace those easy enough with a pedal of my choice?

this is a great pic of your sweet looking bike! do you have any pics of it folded? do you find these handlebars make it tighter? are these lighter? i'm thinking of getting some like these for mine. thanks! I have to take pics later, but, unfortunately, it doesn't fold as compact anymore with the drop bars on. But it can still fit inside my car trunk and that's all I need. Sorry for the late reply.

any answers?
Yes, the pedals are non propreitary. In fact, I will be replacing mine with MKS detachable ones. Thanks for reminding me. :) |

Well, I decided to contact Citizenbike directly and ask about the G2 handlebars and this is their response:
Not sure what the alternate handlebar looks like or does to the specs (weight), but apparently, it is available. |
The Gotham2 is listed as 27 lbs. at Citizen's website

An update on the Gotham 2:
Thanks for the email and your interest in Citizen Bike! We apologize as the website is a bit out of date. All GOTHAM2's are shipped with an adjustable height stem. The height is adjustable a few inches with a quick release on the stem. This is standard and an upgrade request is not required. Thanks again for the email and please let me know if you have any additional questions. Avery Citizen Bike -- http://www.citizenbike.com Folding bicycles for going and being human. |

also do you think one could fit the big apple on this bike? the rear chain stays look like the limiting reagent. |

so did you have to replace the bb and buy a whole new crankset?
also do you think one could fit the big apple on this bike? the rear chain stays look like the limiting reagent. Bare minimum modification, in my opinion, is to change the crankset(it got 56t chain wheel). The stock gearing is just too low for me. ' not sure about the Big Apple tires, though. This is how it looks now, with new wheelset and chain guard. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMAG0141.jpg |
That is a nice looking Nova!
I have been researching these bikes now for a bit - thinking of taking the folding pill for ease of commuting and storage. My other ride - a 2006 ICE QNT Trike outfitted to the nines, is not very friendly for the Portland Max train. LOL Anyway I have been really looking at the Downtube 9 and Gotham 2... not sure I want to go with less than 9 speeds in hilly Portland and the idea of adding BB7's to the Downtube is nice - especially when I already have two very nice custom Velocity 20" wheelsets that are NMSW with disc hubs... |
