Oyama bikes in the UK
 

Maybe this is old news but I've just noticed that Oyama bikes are being sold at wiggle.co.uk under the Oyama brand name and will soon be stocked by chainreactioncycles.
Unfortunately the range doesn't look particularly great to me, they're not including any designs other than non-suspended Dahon-style folders, which whilst looking OK appear to be very heavy for folders.

I noticed most of the models have a New York city sounding name...manhattan, east village, midtown...yet they're not sold in the U.S.

Also, kudos for including IGHs on some of the models. Finally, some of them have a bar or piece of plastic instead of the classic chainguard that covers the entire ring and a good part of the chain. That bar should be all that one needs when it comes to protecting one's trousers. good thinking by them in including these 2 features.

just bumping this because a pal is asking if they are a good buy. I am saying, umm, dunnon, but for the expensive ones compare bromptons (we are in UK) and the cheaper, Dahon....

am I right ?

What about the Crosstown - I have seen this for sale for 600 UKP. Looks pretty cool in pictures - or should I just buy a Brompton like everyone else in London

the Crosstown is the best model under the Sports label.
You should definitely check it out.

Bromptons are more expensive but their quality cannot be matched.

Are you interested in single speed or multi gear?

Hi Hermann - I ride a racing bike to commute to work each day. I'm moving out of London and need to commute by train and I'd basically like a folder that is sporty and fun to ride. At £600 the Crosstown seems like a good buy? I really like the look of the Dahon Pro TT model but that is over £1200 in the UK and no one is discounting it - I guess that it's a special order item? There is some really cool stuff in Japan and Taiwan but it hard to find any UK dealers.

Oyama also being widely sold by Decathlon (FR) in china, hope to see them making ways into more big bicycle distributors in EU and us.

They do some cool things for having nice designs and more importantly, realistic seat post heights for taller people.

the Crosstown is the best option out of the Sports label!
I haven't tested it yet but the Lexington is the cheapest in that label and it seemed pretty good to me anyway!

I have placed an order today and will let you know what I think. Is it possible to buy handle bars similar to the Dahon Pro TT and replace the straight bars?

I've found the Dahon bars https://sslrelay.com/s75353868.onean...iew.shopscript - does anyone know if the brake levers are standard Shimano - they are down as Shimano Dual Control, ST-4500. What else could I use?
