Where to Find QR levers for my Twenty?
Hi all - my otherwise-complete Twenty is missing both its seat and handlebar QR levers. Any suggestions on where I might find some replacements? thanks very much

Try http://oldbiketrader.co.uk
oh actually just checked and hes sold out on both, might not hurt to email and see if he's likely to get more. Try ebay? You may be able to pick up a whole R20 and get someone to only send you the bits you need, or start on a 2nd bike? :D |
One of our premier members, LittlePixel, is a avid Raleigh Twenty owner/restorer. Here is some photo links of replacement bolts & fasteners that he's done to replace the stolen ones on his Twenty(s):
New bolt seated on washer http://www.flickr.com/photos/littlepixel/234211841/ New frame bolt http://www.flickr.com/photos/littlepixel/234212239/ Tightening new custom bolt http://www.flickr.com/photos/littlepixel/234212201/ I am now planning on going to a good local hardware store myself to always have some spare frame bolts & fasteners (wingnuts, allen heads etc.) on hand for my own Twenty. Thank you again Little Pixel for showing the way. |

That...and I always seem to be catching my clothes on them... especially the seat post lever. |
Yeah dont know why I didn't think of that. I restore old 60's Land Rovers as well and the UK eBay site is always a great place for parts

Just to annoy you further with the plentiful supply of cool stuff on UK Ebay, I'm currently bidding on a Dawes Kingpin which looks to be in very good condition, after 4 days I'm the only bidder and may get it for £0.99. :D

I've got one you can have. It'd only cost me a couple of quid to send it. You want it? It's for the seat post. We needed to switch it for a modern QR as my wife and I use use our twenty for carting our three year old about and the original QR gets in the way of the child seat.
Let me have your address and I'll get it in the post to you. I'll probably end up doing an upgrade on the headset soon so I'll have the one from the other end going begging too if you're interested. |
