Yeah, it's electric, but it folds! Very cool!

Cool concept, but when compared to lets say the CarryMe Electric its really not that impressive:

Yike: Learn new riding style
CarryMe DC: 10meters to adjust to smaller wheels

Ways to carry it around:
YikeBike: Lift and carry
CarryMe: Rolling wheels (like luggage) lifting only in stairs

What happens if you run out of battery halfway:
YikeBike: You walk
CarryMe: You ride using pedals



Folding speed:
YikeBike: 20sec
CarryMe: 8sec

Speed & Weight limits: Both the same (24km/h,100kg)

The CarryMe electric has 216 Volt-amp-hours. From checking other electric bike specs, it looks like you'll get 1 mile for 18 V-AH. This translates into 12 miles (no pedaling) for the CarryMe. Which is still way more than the YikeBike.

One looks like a bike out of TRON, the other looks like a toy.

Is the Yike Bike even a bicycle? Isn't it more of a motor scooter? The pedals don't appear to move.

It's a segway with a seat. Oh, and it doesn't balance you. and it's not that much cheaper.

The very first info them had on it show two versions. The one them have now
but also a possible version that had real pedals going to the front wheel and
actually being without electric motor.

How much that one would cost I have no idea. But it looked kind of cute like
a small version of the very big PennyFart or what them was named. Bone Shakers?

You know two yards high very big front wheel.

It's still overpriced. If the owner can get them down to $450.00 dollars, you'll see them all over the papers because they will be everywhere!

The electric one do costs too much. My opinion.
When they made their first pages on their site
they also presented a HPV version that one
used pedals to drive the front wheel.

I guess that is not so easy to make practical?

The article says it has 'anti-skid' brakes and so can stop faster than a bicycle. Well if you don't mind stopping quickly with your face on the road, I suppose it would stop fast. Looks like it would dump you straight down with a quick stop. People have gone over their handlebars with a bicycle by hitting the front brakes too hard, I can't imagine what would happen with the 'Yike'. Maybe that is why they called it that.

Would be cool to find the old picture of the Penny Fart version with pedals.
I guess the picture where a CGI design suggestion and not something they
really had built though.
