looking for a hinge bolt

I just purchased an older folder. The bike is in great shape with the exception of a missing hinge bolt, pictured below,. I have considered having one fabricated, but before I do that I wanted to check and see if anyone knew of a place I could purchase one, or anyone that has an extra, thanks.

Sorry, the image is not of my bike. I wanted to provide it to make up for my bad description of the part. My folder has the rod, but is missing the qr bolt and nut.

I would go to a hardware store and see if you can find some parts there that would work. Do you have a local bicycle coop that may have a bin full of parts that you could search through?

I've looked at Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Langdon Tools, and Lowes. I plan on checking at Tacoma Screws. Unfortunately we do not have a co-op. I also check at my LBS and they refered me to langdon tools, they weren't even sure what the part would look like.

Has anyone used an eye bolt for this?

It looks like an eye bolt that I have seen on older cars used on the engine for alternator or ac compressor.

We actually had one of those bikes in the shed until recently with that exact part.... passed it on to my Brother, so not sure if he still has it or not. I will ask for you.
BTW, I recognise "Twin Falls" ..... a very good friend of mine was Director at the Jerome Chamber of Commerce until last year.

That would be great, thanks. I think I may use a standard eye bolt to get by on, but I would still love to find the original part.

Do you remember any of the makes or models?

I have the same trouble with a Sears rebadged German folder. Did you find a solution? If you don't have one, I will be trying this:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/1197/=ixxeuz

Press in a bushing and re-drill to 9mm: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/1128/=ixxgcl

and then drilling & tapping a knob to fit:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#machine-com...-knobs/=ixx3fb

The rod end might need to have the threads chased deeper with a die for my application, though countersinking/boring the tapped knob should achieve the same result. If the 10mm rod end isn't a good solution, then perhaps the 3/8" one will be (with a proper-sized bushing). I know it's an old post, but please reply!
