My first ever folding bike

For a freebie gift from Panasonic when buying a panasonic air conditioner, it is surprisingly good. Nice and comfy and fairly sturdy. Then again, I've never ridden one before.

Looks nice... hope it serves you well.
The smallest chainring and the largest sprocket combination looks close to a 1:1 ratio... I bet that's an entertaining experience.;)
Is the frame steel or aluminium? I would guess steel judging by the thinness of the hinge plate. It's nice that the bike has tabs for mounting racks. Are you going to use the bike as a commuter or light tourer?

Free is good! I wish I got a free folding bike when I bought a big ticket item here at home.

The whole experience feels a bit odd. I just worked out how to unfold it and rushed out to try it out. I've still got to find the best riding position. I think I'll use it as a pootling around bike. Can it really be used as a tourer? I can't imagine riding it for long distances.

I think it is steel.

I take my KHS Mocha on 50 mile rides and wouldn't hesitate to ride it further if given the opportunity. But of course I do have my trusty old Brooks attached to it.;)

Small wheel touring bikes aren't new and have their advantages:

Man how I'd love to take a few months off and tour through Scotland on a folder.

Wow, it's the perfect marketing ploy. Give people bicycles so they get sweaty, then they can sell more air-conditioners! :-)

Welcome to the world of folders. They are a very versatile bike, and yes you can tour on them.

Folders are like Lay's potato chips: Betcha can't [buy] just one.* (I've bought three since August...and a Moulton. :thumb:)

[* Old Lay's ad campaign: Betcha can't eat just one.]

So true! My NWT is not just about a year old and I'm itching for a Tikit.

Hey, good lookin' ride! Panasonic was an inspiration to my career choice (radio).
