Dahon Boardwalk D6 Upgrade

I plan on upgrading my 00-03 Boardwalk D6. Right now it's a 6 speed. I was wondering which way to go. I have a 7x3 Sachs dual drive from an old recumbent, nice but heavy. I was also thinking of adding a triple with a FD, but do't know what size FD to get . Has anyone trying or did this kind of upgrade before.

If the dual drive is on a 20" wheel go for that I have 2 folders with these. If you need to pay to get a wheel build up then look at a new bike instead like a Dahon with IGH or a dual drive TT,TR, etc.

On this page towards the bottom is a front derailleur hanger for the Dahon, Call Thor to make sure it will work and what type of derailleur he recommends. http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/accessories/special.htm
or get this http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/2009/curvesl.htm

Thx for the info, and yes the 3x7 Sachs is on a 20 inch rim. It came off my old Vision Metro R30 recumbent.

I went for racing brifers with my dual drive, fun good upgrade. Should work ok,expect brake levers with v brakes?

I thought you can't use brifters with the 3 speed internal hub.

The 3X9 scram works great with brifers. My 3X7 sach is grip shifts. Never tried that hub with brifers, but it would proberly work fine as there is an extra click on the brifers for cable travel issues etc.
I meant more than brifers might not pull enough cable for v brakes , although I found that with carefull set up they were "ok" on my v braked Downtube folder that i fitted brifters to.

I was thinking of travel agents to help with braking
