I wonder if it's strong enough or if it's more likely to work loose with the minimal bolt design.

Nice catch - the Syntace 'Peanut' system is a bit like this too.

The caveat with this design is you have to remove all your bar furniture if you want to change your bars out - the Aberhallo has a removable plate like on Ahead stems that means you can take off the bars with grips, shifters, brake levers intact. Not an issue for everyone but worth raising.

I saw another design on ebay a couple of weeks ago but I can't find it now. I'm sure the seller had loads in stock but I'd searched and not found it, I think it was around 120g.

maybe a flying lesson is included ? surely its in the cards with all three pieces weigh in a scant 80 grams ... or is it the two clamps only ..maybe just one ?

I didnt learn a lot during my XX years in the bike biz... but my old boss hammered it in to me to never save weight on forks or stems ..

Hey Thor, just curious, does your Aber Hallo riser work on Bromptons and still allow a proper fold?

CSG, you're thinking about making the M bar higher I assume. Nope, it's not an option as when folded the end of the handlebar will hit the ground. That's why with the new H bar the stem hinge has been moved, to compensate.

Mostly curious, chagzuki. I thought the height of the M bars was OK when I did a test ride (I had to use an extended seat post to fit my legs) but that the reach was a bit more forward than I preferred. We were able to adjust the bars back a half inch or so and that helped quite a bit. It didn't interfere with the fold.

I do wonder if the H-type stem will be available separately though. While I imagine one would have to re-cable I suspect there are a few taller riders or folks wanting a more upright position that would like to retrofit their current Bromptons.

I've been wanting to try out an aber hallo for awhile, but the shipped price is a bit high for what it is, and I'm not sure what it'll do to the fold on my bike with bar-ends (it's already a little tight folded). Good alternatives options though.

Little pixel modifed his changing the bolt out for a QR. It folds fine . See his informative threads for more infomation. Its a sweet brompton, I don't say that often!
