Brompton Pentaclip - Using upper position

Firstly, hello from sunny Ireland! I got my first Brompton (M6R) last weekend and love it. It even withstood a ten mile jaunt on Wednesday - well, withstood it better than my legs did anyway.

Onto my Q. I want to push the saddle back and raise it slightly. I've seen where people have turned the pentaclip upside down to achieve this, positioning the saddle rails in the upper position on the clip.

But do I turn the whole pentaclip assembly upside down, or just flip over the part that holds the saddle rails in place?

Just got a reply from Brompton tech support who said either method is fine.

(It was great to see them getting back to my email so quickly!) :)

yea ..
I find it makes fitting other saddles practical ,
those with low clearance between under side of the saddle shell and rails,
Like a non Brompton Fizik CP3 Vitesse I got, before I got the bike.

I flipped the whole thing over and mounted my Brooks B-17 using the uppermost part of the clip. I gained a good inch in height this way. I think it's all in the manual.

Flipped the clip around today, and adjusted the saddle position, angle and height. It's perfect now. I must say, the pentaclip is very useful, it allows the most minute adjustments.
