My first folder - Dahon Boardwalk D7
7 Attachment(s)
Hi folks,
After weeks of mulling over several bikes I decided on the Boardwalk D7. I was surprised at how it handles. Several weeks ago, I tested a Dahon Eco C7. I found it very responsive and a bit heavy. The boardwalk handled just as the Eco C7. I also found it lighter than the Eco C7. I'm not sure what year model this is but the seller said it was a 2007 model. Any way to verify this? Btw, this model came from Japan as it still has the Japanese parking sticker on the top tube. Andy |
welcome to the fold
nice one for sure thor |
That 'Pea Soup' Green color was introduced around 2007.
Boardwalks are good riding bikes - our first folders were 2005 Boardwalks 7-speeds. Wife still likes the way they folded and how the magnets held them together. Our 14 yr old grandson is now riding my old 2005 Boardwalk single-speed - he loves it. Welcome and have fun! Lou |
Congrats...small wheels - big smiles...:thumb:

I have a D6 caled "Oskar" as my "car bike," like it a lot -- even for the occasional 20 mile commute run.
They seem to have stopped selling the D7 here in the states -- only the fixie S1 version remains. |
I'm new to Folders... just bought a vintage Boardwalk D6 looks to be circa 1980's? The frame hinge mechanism seems very loose and the springs are not connected and just hanging. It doesn't give me confidence if I ride over bumpy roads... Same with the locking mechanism on the handlebars, I guess I could just throw bungees on the handles for peace of mind. But it seems to ride okay, but very slow compared to my 21 lb Nishiki 12 speed Tri-A road bike which is my daily rider... I had to pay a lot of money for this old bike as L.A. seems to be a very hot market for Dahons
