Tern X30

Has anyone ridden one? The demo video on NYCE WHeels is impressive, and the bike appears to be exactly what I'm after in combining decent foldability and suitability for longer and faster rides. But they're not cheap, and I wonder if 30 gears is overkill. Something like this in a cheaper version would really be nice.

it seems if you want a cheaper version than the x30 you might have to look at the dahons with multiple gears. The sub $2000 tern line has like single digit gears and even those are $1k and above if you stick with their verge lineup. Going Dahon you might miss out on the long term benefits of parts replacement, and the over engineered folding mechanism but the fold is actually butter smooth and friction free surprisingly unlike the dahon i have in the house.

I guess they are like bromptons and friday's, if you want one you are going to have to pay up. I can't really look at tern as a budget bike cause even the single speeds are pretty expensive.
