Brompton Bicycle Quick Set Seat Post Keeper???
 

I saw this on ebay the other day and it caught my eye. The problem is that it's a tad expensive. Do any of you guys have/know of a cheaper solution?

The telescopic seat-post sort of solves this problem. I guess only if you are tall enough to max out the normal seat-post. Here's Peter from Nycewheels showing what I mean.

Two alternative:
1. Cut a piece of an extra shim and stick it below the original shim. With the right length, the seatpost will stop at the desired height.

2. Add a stop screw at the bottom of the seat pipe. If you also chope the flare at the bottom of the seatpost, you can also remove the seatpost with no tools, through the slot in the clamp shim.

it's good enough.


upper section of telescopic seat post like all those mountain bikes, can be stolen.
as there is nothing keeping it ..
I had ideas about an interior cable to the top of the second section,
fitted to the rubber plug, sold by Brompton.. at the bottom,
there is a screw and wedge in the Bung..
