Citizenbike Website Updated With New Colors For Some Models
Hey Gang!
Just in case anyone is interested, I happened to visit Citizenbikes website yesterday, and noticed that their Miami, Gotham 2, and Tokyo models are available in some cool looking new colors.
Below are just some samples.
If your going to show the world you are smart for owning, and riding a folder, you might as well look good doing it at the same time.

I was looking at the Tokyo as something compact to take on the bus/train and not afraid to lock up while I step in for a beer in packed pub with friends. Before the website change Citizen listed the Tokyo at 26"x 20" x 11". Now they list 31"x 22" x 14.5".
I've traded a few emails with them and they won't give me a straight answer. They maintain that the Tokyo frame has not changed from the last version and they have made minor component changes. However, the previous Tokyo was more compact and they acknowledge this one is longer. I suspect it is more of a case of creative measuring last time. 31" rivals my Giant Halfway which is rather giant. I suppose if I stood the Tokyo on its tail it would be a bit more compact in the bus. Have to put it in a bag as not to impale people with the seatpost.

That is a rather large fold for a 16 inch bike but if you look at the graphic that shows the Tokyo imposed on the Miami, the distances between the seat post, and handle post are the same. Maybe that is why they (Citizenbike) state that the frame was lengthened perhaps to avoid a cramped "cockpit" on the Tokyo.
The one difference I do notice from the prior versions on both the Tokyo, and the Miami is that now their frames have horizontal chain stays (Like in most bikes folding or not) where before the seat stays were the only connection from the main frame to the rear axle/wheel assembly. It is still that way on the Gotham 2.
No wonder why the Brompton with it's very compact fold is sought out by multi modal commuters. If only it were priced more attractively.

I suspect the shipping would be more than the bike (did a calc to Blaine, WA). I can't send you a PM as I'm too forum raw. If you'd like to dialogue I'll figure out a venue.

Well, for 16" wheeled folders I've looked at the Brompton and the Curve D3. The Brompton certainly is a folding masterpiece despite all those twidly bits. Side by side at the LBS the Dahon was pretty respectable folded down. I've seen older Tokyos with no chainstays which how the Curve is laid out. Before the website change they did have Tokyos with chainstays and 26" length. I guess I expected it to stay comparable to the Curve in size.
Anyhow, back to topic, the colour coordination looks pretty sharp.

I sent a Swift Folder that direction a few months ago and I remember it was around $45 shipping. The Tokyo would be heavier, but it folds up smaller so the overall package might be a little cheaper with a smaller size box. Anywho nothing to urge I just figured I would mention it since its sitting here waiting for someone to buy it. =) Part of the reason I am selling it is if I was going ot keep it I would need a longer seatpost and I am 5'10" The main thing though was to me it felt a little twitchy and I ride a mini velo alot.

Sorry it took a while to get these to you, but I have around 29x23x13 so really not far off what they listed for the current ones and there is no way I could get the Tokyo I have to fit the first measurements you saw. I doubt this one is a small enough fold to mess with getting it instead of a new one unless you wanted to save the $$$ after shipping getting this one instead of new. Here is my local CL ad if you are interested I would knock down the price $25 since you have to pay shipping.

Almost a year old now my Gotham 1 is still in terrific shape. 937 miles logged on it so far. Single speed is simplicity at its finest. Extremely easy to maintain and reliable.
I recommend them at the highest levels.
Great new colors for anyone who may be looking around for a new folder.
