Hanging a Folded Brompton on a Wall?
 

Any suggestions/solutions to this?

I am trying to save some space by hanging my brompton on the wall but I have no idea as to where to start.

I've seen them inventoried by hanging a bunch from hooks on a pole,
then the pole run up to the ceiling on a pulley scheme.

Perhaps you can get a Cabinet Shop to make a cabinet to mount on the wall,
and sized appropriately to put the folded up bike and a few accessories into.
same folks that make kitchen cabinets for houses. or finish carpenters.

If you look closely at the picture, there is at least one hook visible, but they probably used two hooks per bike. The hook you can see is right behind the Brompton sticker by the seat post. The other hook is presumably by the front hinge.

You may want to ask NYCeWheels. In their Brompton review video, they show them being stored that way.

Well, the wall would work if you want to show it off (and who wouldn't?). Otherwise, just fold it up and hang it by the seat on the clothes bar in the closet.

Folding Bicycles (even little ones like Bromptons) are heavy. In earthquake country, you learn not to hang heavy things. They might come crashing down -and pose a real and very bad physical danger to others. Or even the bike might become severely damaged if it missed you or others.

There are better ways of storing your bike. I roll my bikes around the house in various available hidden nooks & crannies safe from Helliion my Bengal cat. Even where I live dead center in an earthquake zone. My methods are as follows:

• Mover's Furniture Dolly
• means of attaching the bike to the dolly shown below (straps, bungee cords)

(works only with steel)

• Castor Wheels
• magnets to attach wheels to key points on bike's side

Thank you for the great suggestions. Now that I think about it, maybe mounting the bike on the wall is not such a great idea. My curretn bike configuration is actually pretty heavy. It's almost 30 pds.

Ive decided to just get one of these Ikea EXPEDIT shelving units. I can just keep it in the living room and add a vase on top. Design on a dime lol...

Are you going to eliminate the inner shelves? Can you please post a pic of the finished design with the Brompton in it? :)

Yes. Since this is made out of particle board, I may have to add some metal L brackets for support in the interior. Once I get over my current issue with folding the bike (made some additions that are preventing me from properly folding the bike :(), I will post some pics.
