Fuji folding MB
Ended up with a decent example a couple of weeks ago.
It does not have folding pedals. Need advice on what to replace these with-and I do want the folding feature. Total newbie here, so if I'm not explaining myself well, let me know and I'll try again. |
May I rephrase?
If you were putting one together right now, what folding pedals would you use? |
thor has some http://www.thorusa.com/accessories/pedals.htm#promenade
the PROLITE look just like the ones i got on my downtube |
To quote another folding forum member, "I'd love to have folding pedals, but they haven't been invented yet"
The existing designs for "folding" pedals wear out too quickly, are heavy, don't fold that small, and can be expensive if you want decent traction. You're better off getting quick release pedals which are really just as easy to detach as the "folding" designs are to fold except the quick release pedals are more durable, lighter, make the bike smaller, and have designs with good traction at decent prices...I recommend one of the many Wellgo QRD pedals available on ebay (for some reason this brand isn't sold by stores, but they're fantastic pedals for around $30-$40). I have a pair of Wellgo QRD-M138 and a pair of Xpedo Traverse Quick Release (which is Wellgo's premium brand) and I love them both to death, but if I were fixing up an old bike on a budget I'd get a pair of Wellgo QRD-C128: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Wellgo-Q...ht_2775wt_1174 |
I haven't really seen too many models of folding pedals. I would probably go the route of Quick Releases myself when it comes time for me to change mine.

Thank you all, folks. This is appreciated.
