V-Clamp Rehab for a 2012 Dahon Mu Uno

As mentioned previously I took the bike to DC via Amtrak over the past week and put another 50 or so miles on it with a few folds mixed in -- no problems whatsoever.
Jur: thanks for the duct-tape trick. I did add a bit to the area that received the most initial damage. It didn't eliminate the few creaks and squeaks I'm getting from the hinge, but I like having it there nonetheless. (And, they're really not that bad -- I suspect they've been there all along, and I'm only noticing them now due to my worries about the health of the hinge.)
Still no word from Dahon after two emails over two weeks, and the shop from which I purchased the bike isn't doing anything to help. According to them, I've got a better chance to hear back from Dahon about getting such a part than they do. Despite my frustration I won't divulge the name of that shop but, clearly, there's a reason for why their price was so much lower than elsewhere.
Finally, I suspect this thread has surpassed its interest-lifespan I won't resurrect it again unless I do ultimately hear back from Dahon, but I wanted to give one final thanks for all of the help I got. This turned out to not be such a big deal, but that was not initially clear to me, and with no local dealers, a complete lack of help from the shop from which I bought the bike, and total silence from Dahon, I really would have felt out in the cold were it not for the community support of this forum -- thanks!

Thor is the best asset Dahon/Tern has, as he goes the extra mile to make up for corporate's deficiencies. If not on the payroll, he should be. (now that should keep him puffed up for awhile...)

Just to recap: Thor is providing warranty service for a bike that was purchased from a competitor, free of charge, because that competitor is unable / unwilling to provide any post-sale support. If anyone is on the fence regarding from where to buy his next Dahon / Tern folding bike, I'd recommend taking this anecdote into account. This is truly amazing service, and if I could do my purchase over again, Thor would be the first and only stop for my online shopping.
(It may appear that I got my cake and am eating it, too, because I went for a low price yet am still getting this service from Thor, but in all sincerity I'd far rather have this goodwill go both ways.)
Once again, thanks Thor! I'll send an email shortly...

I know I said I wouldn't resurrect this thread unless I heard from Dahon, but I felt compelled to publicly thank Thor again: as promised, the latch kit, complete with the plastic piece I need, arrived last night.
Thanks, Thor!
Thanks, Thor!

Well... Anyway this thing is used for hubs. Here is the discription:
https://www.parktool.com/product/poly...ant-tube-ppl-1
Park Tool's poly-urea lubricant was developed specifically for bicycle maintenance and repair. PolyLube 1000 has an extremely high shear strength to protect vital parts under extreme conditions. PolyLube 1000 also repels moisture and is compatible with conventional greases.
On the tube itself marked:
Petrolium Oil(grease)
Polyurea grease
Don't know any other product from ParkTool for alternative. But I doubt nevertheless.
