brompton p or s bag as carry on with frame ? OK security ? U lock ?

Hi folks,

I'm a brit having a blast of a work-trip to the midwest US thanks to my SL2-X and hard case.

But I need to reduce the weight of the case when I fly to Boston. Has anyone carried on a p or s bag with the frame on it ? When I flew over, I put the frame but not the bag in the case.

Any experiences ?

Also, anyone carried a U-lock on ?

thanks

Gus

How much weight do you need to cut out?

I've flown several times with a Brommie bag as hand luggage, not to the USA though. No dramas but I don't take a U-lock because I have the bike with me.

OK. I don't think I will risk it. Stuffing my carry on with whatever I can, leaving frame and u lock in hte case.

I've flown with a T bag that had the frame in it.. I brought a lock, but it was a fairly weedy padlock and cable (Japan is known for low crime) - but it was in the bag too, and it was no problem.
