[Birdy] Brands for inner tubes + rear bags?

Hello

I have a couple of questions about the Birdy (World Speed):

1. Besides the 16-18" (40-47 x 355, 18 x 1.50) tubes from Schwalbe, are there other brands I could use?

2. Which brands of bags could I use with the Expedition carrier rear rack? I read that Ortlieb will fit, but are there other brands I should know about?

Thank you.

1. Any brand in the right size would work. My local bike shop stocks both Scwalbe and cheap Chinese innertubes - I've used both and can't say I've noticed a difference in performance/flat resistance.

2. Any pannier using the Klickfix system should also fit the Expedition rack - and they have the benefit that no adapter is needed. Here's the type of adapter to look for: http://www.velofred.com/product_info...roducts_id=498

Thanks for the infos. I did find 16" tubes, but 18" are much harder. I'll see if 16" tubes can fit.

I didn't mean a front pannier, but rather a set of bags to hang to the rear rack, such as Ortlieb's BackRoller Plus. I'll just bring the bike to a couple of big stores and check which can fit.

I have used Deuter which also use Ortlieb hanging hardware.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check Ortlieb and Deuter bags.

Yes, they do fit. 16" and 18" sound very different in size, but if you look at the ISO sizing you see that they are actually very close. 16" is 349 mm and 18" is 355 mm.

Neither did I ;) Rear panniers with Klickfix fittings are available.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try 16" tubes, then, and see how they fare.

(Obviously) didn't know Klickfix were also available for rear panniers. I'll check them out.
