Brompton case, on the cheap

Some of you might know I acquired a near-mint Brompton a few weeks ago. I had found a bag for it (free), but was looking for something more along the lines of a wheeled case, and not hundreds of dollar either.

Went on a trip to Luggage Warehouse in Chicago (2876 N. Milwaukee). There, I found a Voyageur soft-sided bag with zippers, 2 handles & 3 sets of wheels for $30. I brought along my bagged Brommie and it just fit, so the uncased bike fit a skooch better.

BTW, store was definitely one-of-a-kind territory. Returns, closeouts, overstocks, etc. But all super cheap. Most expensive item I saw was $75.

Good find. Is it airline legal (w + h + d not more than 62")

FYI, When I got my case the local Brompton dealer recommended to remove the hinge screws. They can easily get damaged in the case.

More like 64", so not great for airline travel unless they don't measure. Easily under the 50 lb weight limit with bike, though.

Looks great! Might be good to wedge some foam into the edges. Nice find!
