One of the great bike rides of my life happened at Zion National Park last month with my old Downtube Mini. Turns out most private cars and trucks are banned from the main Zion canyon road. Most people access it by NPS Shuttle buses, but you can ride a bicycle on the road. I started out a little before sunrise on my DT Mini from the Zion South campground. The first couple of miles are a nice paved trail, then you enter the main vehicle road just after cars are banned. Shuttles run about every 10 minutes or so, so for the bulk of my ride there was no traffic of any kind. I did see a few bicycles on my way back down the canyon, but mostly I had Zion canyon all to myself, with a few visits from deer and wild turkeys... It was a magical morning!

Narrower, higher pressure tires for a trunk-portable base mile roaster. Getting a hitch receiver on my Hyundai tomorrow... so I can carry my 'normal' bikes without partial disassembly... so I slapped the Honey Badgers back on the Sun wheelset, though will keep the new wheels clad in road tires... just too handy not to. I can carry it in the trunk without worrying about a casual stickyfingers noticing it.

KM 0 of the Chromemoly Highway on my Alu Swift. Took a quick evening spin from Torvizcón to Almegijar yesterday. Will ride this road to Trevelez in next couple days. Still weary of meeting Guardia Civil on the highways despite lockdown easing. Phase 1.
