Bugatti folding bike... help

I found this in a client's garage..

Got it for a song but can't find any mention of it online..

Hoping for some help here...

One of the cables is busted, housing and all, tires are toast, not sure about the shifting yet, hopefully just needs some tlc.

Do I dare mess with anything else?

Any idea on it's value?

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you consider what a Bugatti Veyron cost these days .... the bike just maybe worth a small fortune :-)

I would carefully restore it and than offer it to Bugatti connoiseurs for an unbelievable cool deal, like 5 grand or so... you might never know :-)

That's one nice looking vintage bike! If it were mine, I'd leave it as-is and just hang it on display.

These '60's Italian u-frame folders were ubiquitous a while ago, with all kinds of brands being offered. I had a Bianchi-labeled unit made by Norco (?) that looked very similar to that Bugatti.

They are pretty heavy and flexy; not good compared to today's folders, but they are nice-looking. Beware the crankset- it's one of those Thompson-style 2-piece cranks that are impossible to find replacement parts for. The bottom bracket is Italian-sized, but has no threading, so it can't be replaced either. So, if you ride it, make sure the bottom bracket is maintained meticulously- keep out water, replace the bearings and regrease it often.

Hinge pin seems to be missing. Might not be rideable after all.
