yeah, what a laughable bunch of punters we are.

why don't you just start a thread called "Bikes I Sell"?

oh right, that would be against forum rules.

i suppose you may want to respond to this post by telling me to "calm down" which is one of your favorite condescending catch-phrases. i'll save you the trouble by preemptively assuring you that i feel pretty relaxed. so, feel free to continue on with your near-endless shill-posting.

seriously, you might want to consider making yourself a cup of tea and staring at page 1 of this thread. the above bike and many others you would probably love are mentioned herein.

I would but I have so many bike tastes and pages I am on I haven't the time, if I did I have such a poor memory that if I seen said bikes I would forget it by time I reached the end of the threads lol! Not even thinking about velos at the moment I am to busy getting excited over cruisers and fat bikes and fat cruisers!

honestly, i can't tell when you are trolling or giving a straight forward opinion. i guess i will have to start taking seriously the caveat you include as your tagline: "I known next to nothing. I am frequently wrong."

it really beggers belief that you sincerely think that this:

My sig line is a test. You fail.

I do sincerely think this, but it helps if you show that picture of the folded bike, with the Birdy in the background for effect.

The fold characteristics are such that yes, I think the Tyrell was definitely inspired by the Birdy. If you can't see this, you are being intentionally blind to the comparison: rear wheel which folds under and offset from the frame plane, front wheel which folds alongside the frame, handle post folding down to the side of the frame, seat post straight down into the seat tube, non folding front portion of the frame connecting the seattube/BB/headtube. And does the Tyrell have front suspension to go along with the rear elastomer suspension, just like the Birdy?

I don't mind that the Tyrell is inspired by the Birdy fold, just like I don't mind that the Curl is inspired by the Brompton. At least R&M have actually updated their models -- you chose to show the monocoque design here instead of the traditional, earlier style in the pic I quoted -- while Brompton has managed incremental improvements at best in the same time...

Correction, an engineer friend of mine smiled and said all bikes fold .....
Given enough force......unfolding is the feature of a folding bike.

Ok carbon fibre doesn't fold well..........

Well the tyrell may be inspired by the birdy but if it was then it happened incrementally because the tyrell fx was using a similar offset rear wheel fold and an identical fork design to this new model for quite a while now (i dont think pre dating birdy). This bike did add the folding handle post and the elastomer shock as new features to the mix but birdy and tyrell dont have exclusive rights to those..

I do think at the very least the new tyrell does not really steal much astheticly from the birdy and I think an overlay would reveal that from the wildly different forks to the wildly different center frame. I will say that the folds are very similar but not the same if only from the fork differences. The curl seem more directly a copy to me at least but I can see where you are coming from.

That is actually one of Tony Rentschler's builds (Brooklyn)

Don't disagree that the Curl seems more a direct copy of the non- patent/design copyright Brompton. Just saying that the fold characteristics of the Tyrell (huge fan, BTW) are more than similar to the Birdy.

And considering such a comparison, I don't fault Dahon for producing a Brompton clone any more than I fault Tyrell for appropriating B&M fold characteristics. Part of the game.

I only have issue with those who take issue with the Dahon/Brompton comparison and who post the Tyrell design, including an original Birdy in the background, as an example of supposedly original design...

None of them can touch a Brompton in terms of looks and functionality! ;-)

Littlepixel you big lightweight legend you!

I met you a few years ago with sesamecrunch and EvilV! I remember that bike then. A concoction of Brompton and Merc (Brompton clone) parts. It's like a red wine and gets better with age and you have added such cool wheels. It looks fabulous!
