Bike Friday build

I'm in the processing of selecting components for a Bike Friday New World Tourist. I'm trying to get gearing between low 20s or lower and a high end in the low 90s to 100". With 20 inch wheels, you know it's the high end that's the problem. I think I finally came up with a solution. I think a 48/36/26 paired with a Capreo 9-26 cassette would achieve the desired gear range at 18-98". Perfect. If it matters, I'm getting Avid BB7 cable disc brakes with Tektro V style brake levers and I wanted trekking butterfly bars with Paul's Thumbies adapters for bar end shifters.

Here's what I was thinking of.

1. Shimano M591. (okay, a friend just told me it won't work with bar end shifters. Is that correct?)

2. SRAM VIA 27 (3x9=27, there's also a VIA 24 but that's an 8 speed)

3. Sugino XD500

or XD600 (there's a version with a 48t, too)

4. Velo Orange 48/34/24.

A little bit out there, but the range is roughly the same gear range with a 46/30 pairing.

5. https://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...-crankset.html

Which one of these 5 will work with bar ends? Do you know of any other 48t high triples?
