mezzo d-9 : how to determine date of manufacture?
Is there a simple way to determine the date of manufacture for a Mezzo D-9, similar to the method for a Dahon (number/code stamped near bottom bracket)? If not, what may be visual cues that would help determine when a D-9 was manufactured? During my research, I have seen comments of different rack versions as well as different seat clamps. When were these changes introduced? How about colors? Were certain colors only offered certain years? I have tried to find an email contact for Mezzo, but I cannot find anything on their website.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You need to contact ATB Sales https://www.atb-sales.co.uk/
I dont know how to get the date of manufacture but if you find out then let us know. The very early bikes did not have wheels on the racks and I think the front fork design was different. More recent models have a sort of double seat post clamp. I have also noticed that the Mezzo badge is different colours but I don't know if that is for the different models, mine is red/brown but most I have seen are blue.
Hope that helps, I am sure someone who knows more about than me will be able to give you a better idea.

Thanks for the reply, cpg. I tried the email on the website (info@) and it bounced for me. Does anyone else have an email for them?

If you are in the Uk try phoning. I spoke to them some time ago about the Whyte PRST-1 mountain bike that went out of production many years ago and the were very helpful.

I am in the states. I still may give them a call if I can't find another way to contact them. Are your fabbing services available for inline wheel brackets. :-)

The improved front QR release was introduced in 2004 and the seat post clamp 2006.
Precise dates from frame numbers contact atb.unless their is a guide on the Web.
Mezzo thread details the small changers that have occurred.
Tyres also improved in 2004-2006. Not a lot needed changing. some bikes feature the lovely cespro draillers, and shifters.
Some Nottingham bikes feature dual drive dropped bars and full rolling racks!!!
