Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery Mr. Ritchie.
They just keep popping up everywhere don't they? But the photo looks to be the original.

Too funny. Wonder how much they're asking for them?

I saw(online) been done, Flamingo has already been made .. aluminum , main portion .
( subject to fatigue cracks.) (some one sent money to the AliBaba site wanting a Specialized thru dealer only policy bypass to get a Carbon CX bike online, as Ali Baba Was the leader of a gang of thieves , in the 1001 nights tales of Persian folklore , I was not surprised when he said, his Western Union payment was just cashed and nothing delivered) |

Any how someone posted about a bike deal gone bad thru that company .. Pyrrhic bargain.

The description doors not match the photo (disc brakes). And it is a Romanian supplier.

They can make up anything they want, because they don't ship anything, they don't even have a shipping department. :roflmao2::roflmao:
Another poster made an observation that I had also detected right after I started this thread and that is the fact that the description of the bike doesn't match the photo. For this particular listing, the old cliche, "buyer beware" applies very well. "Ed in Orlando" |
The photo is of a proper steel Brompton - you can tell by the junction on the seat post where the suspension block hits the tube - it's a lot more elaborate on a real B - if Alu that part would be too fragile and so on a Flamingobike / Nikishi Oxford / Merc / whatever they are called at the moment it's more of a simple thick collar. It also means the modern frame catch that stops the rear triangle hinging if you pick up the bike doesn't work. (Unless like me you design and get 3d printed some special parts to convert ;)
Also - the rear mudguard has that characteristic delve where it doesn't really fit properly to the brake bridge which IS ON EVERY SINGLE Brompton - something they really should have sorted out by now ;) |
