Mezzo Owners: How do you fit front wheel "hinge" into the receiver on frame?

I have got this folding problem mezzos. After turning the front wheel and folding the rear wheel under the bike frame, I would release the QR lever on front wheel. Once the front wheel is disengaged, I roll it out to the other side of the bike frame (opposite of rear wheel. now there is problem: I cannot fit the hinge that holds the front wheel into this receptor that is welded on to the frame near the rear derailleur. No matter how hard I push the wheel in, the hinge just refuses to budge. What am I doing wrong? How do you solve this problem?

The receptor is found in this pic right above the RD.

There's a set screw in the receiver that controls the tension. Try loosening it.

Also, are your cranks oriented properly? Been awhile since I had a Mezzo, but IIRC the left crank should be pointing straight forward before you fold the rear up under.

And please put an end cap on that derailleur cable.

Other thing worth noting. Is the frame all the way folded under. Many things can stop the last few decrees of folding under. seatpost not down, wrong gear, crank in wrong place. Ie what's the alinement like
