If the bike was not going to be used for touring, then Tikit is your best bet in BF's line-up.
Even IF touring Is part of the plan , the company Offers a rack for both front & rear wheel-ends of the bike that will take standard panniers .

though the 4 bags will complicate the parts carried, when, say, taking the bus to the outside of the city to start from the countryside .

Rolling the bike while folded makes a big difference IMO. It's one reason why I've stuck with the funky ride of the STRIDA -- although I have gotten quite used to it -- rather than a Brompton for my multimode commute. Then again, I think the Brompton ride is mediocre at best. But I do think that rolling it is generally easier than Dahon models where the stem post is outside the fold assuming that the floor is smooth.

With the understanding that I've never ridden the IF Reach nor Mezzo, you should go find a BF tikit for a serious test ride. At the moment, I'm working on a relatively easy quick release modification to an adjustable stem.

Ultimately, no one can tell you what ride is most comfortable for you. While the general consensus is Brompton's ride is not great, that is definitely not applicable to everyone. The problem is Mighty Velo really has nothing more than a narrow corridor to test-ride their Bromptons.

For me, getting any other folder would have resulted in far less riding in our crowded city. Bringing the Brompton onto a bus or semi-crowded train can be tricky enough - any more challenging than that and I would simply avoid multi-modal commuting entirely.

If you want some speed on the weekends, you probably would enjoy larger wheels. But not too large that it doesn't fold up small enough.

You may find rolling is not nesseary.
If the bike folds quickly you just unfold it To move it.

I would alsp conder a dahon fitted with drops
