Recommended Malaysian folding bike shop - this is NOT a question

Shop: VAN'S URBAN BICYCLES
Address: no. 26, jalan SS1/22Kampung Tunku
46300‎ Petaling Jaya‎ Selangor D.E.
Malaysia
phone (local): 037 8660311

The only bike shop in all my shopping around in Singapore and Malaysia who was capable and wiling to solve the multiple Flamingo problems. I don't know if problems were created by my ignorance (I insisted MBS vendor make several modifications that were probably imprudent), Grace Gallant design faults, or other incompetent bike mechanics.

Wai took over two hours going over with his (apprentice ?) mechanic the many problems with the bike. He explained everything , we discussed options, he undersold all the fancy Brompton and third party gadgets. Much better stock and more personal attention than Singapore shops.

He was somewhat familiar with Flamingo, two of his customers having brought theirs into the shop.

The shop wasn't cheap by Malaysian standards but I left a very happy customer.

Can you share what you did with your flamingo? I assume yours is the Flamingo London.

What I instructed My Bke Shop (Singaore) to do, not what VAN's did, right?

I could look up from my notes, but off the top of my head...
sorry technical problem posting. Later, or you could read my old posts in thread

1. Adjust fold: wasn't as tight as MIT v8
2. balance frame better
3. decreak stem

those were big three

So are you about happy with your Flamingo post-tweaks? As in, has it largely met most or all of your expectations?

Yes.

What surprises me is...

1. The vendor in Singapore didn't take the time to explain: "We can do X, but if we do Y will result. If you absolutely insist we will, but we don't recommend it" This was more or less the answer of VAN'S URBAN BICYCLES advise on at leaspt one point I raised (adding an angle bend to the seat post - "But that would defeat the purpose of the pole holding the fold" or some such words.)

2. It took five mechanics to get it tuned right

3. I found the customer service at both ROADLINK in Melaka and VAN'S (KL. sort of) to be much more customer service oriented than in Singapore. And that includes the vendor MY BIKE SHOP. I will return to see Ling and Wai. I will not spend my money in Singapore. I thought it would be better service at a higher price, but it was worse.
