Is this a good 'after the rain quick clean' regime?
 

I heard the original industrial lubricating grease applied by manufacturers on bikes is something to cherish for as long as possible. So with this in mind dealing with the UK wet weather (rain & average gritty roads) does this sound like a good quick way to deal with my Mu Uno after wet riding?

1. Spray GT85 (always with a straw for accuracy/reducing wastage) onto chain (to repel water and provide some cleansing)
2. Revolve chain around 30 times (to loosen grit and dirt). Can't do it backwards as it's a coaster brake. Is that a biggie?
2. Wipe off with a rag both outside and inner chain (to clean)
3. Spray small amount of GT85 again as before wiping off the general excess on outside of chain (as a temporary lube & water repellant; as quick clean won't get rid of all water)
4. Dry hinges, quick squirt of GT85
5. Wipe off bike post (ins & outs when folding get it gritty)
6. Inner frame where seatpost slots in is wiped clean
7. Seat post QR lever loosened, wiped off, quick GT85 squirt (it always gets gritty)
8. Rims quickly wiped clean
9. Brake pads quickly wiped off as much as possible without taking anything off!
10. If bike isn't too wet will use rag to wipe off frame generally. Ifvery wet will leave til day after so grit etc. comes off easier - a 'dry wipe'.

I have bought Finish Line Dry Teflon lube & Fenwicks Stealth wet lube but haven't started using them yet. So should I ignore the 'industrial grease' thing and start using them instead of GT85?

Also I'm UK-based. Guys in the states seem to love Simple Green which I guess is salt free. What's a good equivalent for us? Cheap & available in decent quantities. Enviro friendly would be big bonus in my book.

You mean a light pressure wash is best? Not possible for me.

IDK 'The Best' that is usually an opinion battle here , , but the Cyclocross racers when there is Muddy courses and the bikes load up with mud in a lap or 2 that is a common Technique

after the Pro race days the team mechanics use a Bucket and sponges and Brushes .. and a similar wash down ..

Ideal, I expect is set up a cleaning station with everything you need, always there, so it's convenient.

I ride with sks fenders on my bike and have these massive mud flaps extenders from Thor which after installing all that happens to my chain is that it gets wet and no road grime :).

just wipe dry and done!

ive got some SKS 20" x 45mm Bluemels on order but taking forever to get here from LBS :-(
