Need advice for removing MKS Compact EZY adaptors (Brompton)
 

It seems very tough to locate a wrench that is thin enough to fit between the adaptor head and the crank.

Unfortunately here in Singapore my only source is not huge hardware supermarkets, but smallish shops packed to the gills with DIY stuff. They have mostly basic equipment, but after visiting 3 stores, all of them don't have the wrench required to access the thread (head?) so I can loosen it.

I honestly can't remember what I did to tighten the adaptor - especially without using the proper tools - to that point, but now it seems too tight to remove without using a slim-profile wrench.

I did forget to add a washer before installing the EZY adaptor, but I'm not sure it would have made a lot of difference.

Left pedal = left hand thread, did you remember?

15mm cone wrench will work.. any bike shop has them..

Usually, aftermarket pedals can be installed/removed using an allen wrench/ L wrench
on the end that goes into the crank arm. Check out the 10 minute mark on my video.
Some alternatives to a pedal wrench; L wrench, allen socket with ratchet or breaker bar,
allen wrenches that fold inside a holder(like the ones in a multitool). Most of these can
be found in any decent hardware store or bike shop anywhere in the world.

This is the key to the problems:
When I first tried installing mine, I noticed even a thin pedal spanner would bind to the cranks.
I ended up adding two washers per side.

You may have to fabricate a wrench by hacksawing a 15mm slot in a piece of 2mm or so steel plate.

try a cone wrench .. Park Cone wrenches come in single sizes with a bit longer handles .

+ they have the Blue stuff to pad the handles .. that the short ones ^^^ ..

Thanks guys, I guess what fazed me was that all 3 shops did not have what I assumed was a pretty standard tool. I guess it's bike-specific rather than a general tool?

Even today I went to my nearest LBS, and they don't carry it. When I asked this guy who looked like a mechanic to help me remove the left pedal, he assured me BOTH pedals needed to be turned CCW to remove, and wouldn't be convinced even after I showed him the instructions on my phone browser.

I backed out of the shop slowly.

Cone wrenches are bike specific, yes.

An LBS that doesn't have a set of cone wrenches would be pretty amazing, or do you mean they just wouldn't sell you one?

They said they don't have it in stock, which is pretty unusual. They're not that small a shop by local standards
