May photo thread

O

This means any picture featuring anything with an "O". For example it could be an ostrich, an orchestra, an orchid, an oar, an organ, an origin, an opera, an opal, an Otis lift, oats, oaks, ohms, odes, owners, ogres, ogives, oglers, on time, on the money, Ontario, onomatopoeia, oodles, oozing, opening, O-rings, ordering, ostracising, osculating, oscillating, ocelots, ordinary, once, ours, outer, outside, Orwellian, ortolan, orthogonal, Orthodontist, orthopaedics, or, Oh or an O!!!! - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be a help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view but it's not compulsory......be creative!!!!!

same rules as always.....

This shot of the Odometer from my last car is a few years old, so it might not adhere to the thread's rules. Nonetheless, it fits the theme, so I figured I'd drop it in here anyway.

Oaks Day 2015

It feels wrong to post a picture of one of my kids but not the other (don't want to play favorites), so here they are together just because:

Several people here could take landscape shots of places ... Oklahoma, Ohio, and Oregon.

What about big oak trees? This was one of the ones I thought of ... I spotted some with their leaves turning orange for autumn, but wasn't able to get back to them before they dropped.

And of course there was ocean ... I had several photos I could have submitted for that.

For those into sports there's oval ... footy oval.

One thing I thought of was ... one. One object. I suppose in a way my oats are one ... one jar of oats.

And around here, just about every jewellery shop and tourist shop has opals.

Just some ideas.

This is the first monthly photo thread I've posted in. The rules for participating in the thread were pretty self-evident, but I really have no idea how the voting works.

Anybody care to briefly explain for me?

Welcome to the group. Copied from previous threads:

The rules are simple:
-You must be the photographer
-One entry per month
-Try making it an image from the last year.

Voting:
- Vote for your top 3
- No voting for yourself

And if you are the winner one month ... you're in charge the month after the next. For example ... if you win in January, you're in charge of March. If you win in April, you're in charge of June.
You pick the theme, you count the votes, you announce the new winner.

vote for your three favorites, the person receiving the most votes picks the theme for July.....nondes explained the whole thing in June's photo thread....much better than I did hope you continue sharing your photography!!!!
