September Photo Contest

Last month we had street art, this month we'll move out of the city and into Rural Life.

Autumn is coming on in the northern hemisphere, spring is emerging in the southern hemisphere ... now is your chance to get out in the country and do a little photography.

The rules are simple:
-You must be the photographer
-One entry per month
-Try making it an image from the last year.

Voting:
- Vote for your top 3
- No voting for yourself

The winner picks the theme for November.

Since we live in the country/rural I just had to walk into our forest for some photos. September in our area is Fungi month

*** EDIT - I switched out the photo to represent a more Autumn look. This fungi grouping is growing from fallen leaves.

good to see you posting photos again alfster

even with living in the U.S.’s second largest metropolitan population area I’m still only a little over an hours drive away from the Santa Ynez valley and this bike ride on Foxen Canyon rd.

Well, all my better stuff was better than a year old, so I guess I'll stick with one of my placeholders (top of a natural bridge in Red River Gorge National Geological Area):

Hiking the Inca Trail with my brother this past spring. First view of Wayna Picchu straight ahead- Machu Picchu is built onto the opposite side of the mountain.

Nice picture. Perhaps you can save some money this way: Reverse Mounting Your Prime Lenses for Affordable Macro Photography - Digital Photography School

The Nikon Micro Nikkor 40mm f/2.8 is a nice, little lens for your D3300 - a low priced recommendation (250 US - Dollars). Nikon 40mm f/2.8 DX Micro-NIKKOR

Thanks for the recommendation. We still haven't purchased one, so we'll have a look at this one.
