One of the tunes he penned for Jefferson Airplane:

He also co-wrote 'Wooden Ships' with CS&N:

Died January 27, 2016, which (coincidentally) is also the anniversary of Mozart's birthday (260 years ago)

i'm afraid we'd all better get used to it for the next decade or so. the old guard is primed to go. bowie really hurt. sir paul & sir elton will hurt.
so will clapton, mick, jeff beck, rod the mod and van the man. keith will, obviously, outlive us all.

Paul Kantner dying is a bummer, but I'll be really heartbroken when fellow Jefferson Airplane bandmate Jorma Kaukonen dies (he's 75 years old). I'd put him up there as one of the best, most versatile guitar players of the 1960s; blues, jazz, folk . . . he can do 'em all, , and do 'em very well.

With this rash of musician deaths, his is the first to send me to listening to his music. Last night I was listening to first Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, then Surrealistic Pillow and finally Blows Against the Empire.

This song may be one of my core fantasies.

That's very sad. She was a good singer.
