Cigar/Vape smoking

I admit it. I used to love cigarettes. Now I vape, and smoke the occasional cigar. I am thinking of quitting all together, but I associate booze with smoking, so it's hard when I am drinking socially.

That being said, I do not drink in excess often, so I use my vape probably 2 times a month. Cigars are about once a quarter.

I know both are bad, but I like them. Is 4-5 cigars a year going to kill me that much quicker. I eat very well (5-10 servings of veggies a day), I am pretty active (cycling, flag football, basketball league, kickball, hikes, walks, etc) and I don't drink a lot like I used to. Eventually I would like to be smoke/vape free. Maybe I just need to button down and knock it out all together.

I smoke roll ups (I buy loose tobacco and roll cigarettes myself as a pack of cigarettes here in the UK cost a fortune) .... been smoking since I was 11 and doubt that I will ever be able to stop

tried the e-cigarettes, but they dont do much for me, and no-one knows the long term effects

Yet you know the long term effects of smoking and you still do?

When people say that smoking is very bad what they really mean is that the habit of smoking a pack a day is bad, and most smokers do because it's extremely addictive. There are areas in European cities where running for 15 minutes equals smoking one cigarette because of pollution.

I wouldn't worry about a smoking habit when it's expressed in weeks and months rather than per day. Cigars are nowhere near as bad as cigarettes because you don't inhale them. The dose makes the poison.

I had a pretty detailed account of watching my son die of esofigial (sp) cancer, but I'll let your imagination guide you. It was,is worse than you can imagine.
Don't wish that on your family and loved ones.

I have not smoked cigarettes for a very long time. I finally decided this at the moment when I realized that I had serious lung problems and I could not smoke so much. It was just suicide. I also could not simply refuse them because I was seriously addicted. I thought for a long time and my girlfriend advised me to replace cigarettes with a vape. At first I was skeptical about this, but then I realized that this is a really great idea. In the end, I started looking for a reliable vape and Vape Liquid with a low nicotine content. I found a great store and it became my favorite vape shop for the next 5 years
I got there a super tasty liquid for 10 bucks and an awesome and high-quality vape for $ 150 from the smok brand! for over 5 years and since then I have never smoked cigarettes ...

Is that relative low rate something you can't just stop?

Vape is getting banned in a lot of places, but there are so many online vape shops now. I am not sure how that even works, but I am glad that there is so many. The annoying thing about vape is that it can get broken a lot and you need spare parts. The battery is the thing that needs to be replaced the most and until you get a good one like samsung 25r you will be replacing it a lot. I got it about five months ago and no issues since then. I really don't like the hate on vaping, but people believe everything they see on their TV's...

Vape helped my brother to quit smoking and then he quieted vape too. So it's better still to quit smoking because it really affects your health.

There’s related respiratory illnesses to both vaping and smoking. Because of the respiratory problems already documented in adolescent use of vaping
i particularly worry about their use. Personally i don’t inhale chemicals that will do any harm to my normal lung function.

Unfortunately we have to breath air so this can't be avoided.

is vaping? Is that what the stupid kids are doing these days? Just stick with Zig Zags and roll it up. Very organic.

this...

countless people have enjoyed smoking in the history of human kind as a pleasure, a relief from stress, and as a ritual. granted, commercial tobacco is not the same animal as natural chemical free product. as well, stress of life is amped like a million times what it used to be. so, not only is habitual reliance on substances (ie...emotional suppression) waaay up, but so are the underlying psychological/emotional components that largely contribute to dis-ease. plenty of people get cancers of all kinds never having smoked in their life.

cigars are yummy, vaping chemicals sucks. just my opinion, though

ps. i don't mean to marginalize or generalize in this. cancer sucks, too

Getting help for depression and anxiety and quitting smoking is the best way to feel better.

….and smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.

…and the chemicals in cigar smoke, even without inhaling, can increase the risk mouth, throat, esophagus and larynx cancer.

What will relive stress better:
A 15min walk or a 15min smoke break?

(combining them is not an acceptable answer )

there are a great many things we (and our animal brethren) are exposed to and/or consume that the same can be said true for and no one's condemning them. in fact, many of these things are heavily encouraged or promoted. i won't go into all that as there's always exceptions and these are things up to the individual/s involved. i realize how ambiguous that is, but i've long lost my taste for lengthy explanations. at any rate, smoke junk tobacco, drink junk beer, eat junk food, etc. etc much past the point of moderation in pleasures, yeah....you're probably going to have some varying issues. people live with a lot of unnecessary negativity, though. that's more poisonous than a tobacco plant. is a cigar good medicine? can be. i'd smoke one and drink a beer before i'd take a prescription

10 years ago this past February my 33 year old brother died from lung cancer. Hope like hell it does not happen to you. It ain't pretty. In this day and age of advanced science and knowledge one would think that smoking, vaping, etc. would have died out of fashion.
