Fear the Walking Dead

Anyone watching? Unless things pick up big time, I don't see it lasting another season. Show pretty much sucks.

Acting is horrendous. And I can't believe Daniel would whack out like that. Is is way too tough to break so easily.

I have one question. What happened to Travis's shoes? He is out looking for his son with no shoes? They didn't even show him leaving the house. All of a sudden he is outside chasing him into the field. You don't put your shoes on before leaving the house? I feel like I missed a whole episode. Or did I miss something in last episode?

I was just talking to a buddy of mine about this. On TWD, I root for the survivors. On FTWD, I root for the zombies, except in the case of Daniel (Ruben Blades.) That dude is awesome. Everyone else on the show acts like they're not living in the apocalypse, and it's just business as usual. I want Alicia to die in a fire.

So what about the shoes?

I think Madison has it together. Strange name for a woman.

I think that is a big problem with the show Walking Dead fans have seen the characters evolve to the situation over 6 seasons. With FTWD the viewer has to see the survivors make the same mistakes we already saw the WD characters make in the early seasons. That and it's hard to find the new characters all that compelling for the most part.

I can't do prequels myself. I can't do Better call Saul. I can't do this one...it just doesn't work for me.

Oh, don't get me wrong-- the group on TWD make the same dumb mistakes over and over-- how many times have those people been ambushed and captured? It just keeps happening. But the FTWD folks out on that boat, they do stuff that's dumb outside the confines of the apocalypse.

I guess I'm just finding it hard to suspend my disbelief at times-- the whole intricate open-ocean piracy scheme going on within weeks of the outbreak. Unless these guys were pirates before, I find it hard to believe they could put that plan into action so quickly-- or that they would even need to. Having the boneheads on the Abigail held in contrast to the oddly creepy drydocked pirates makes the whole thing less believable. I just accept the zombies. The humans get less freebies from me.

But here I am, still watching it.

The problem I had with the whole piracy thing was the amount of ammunition that was used to shoot up those boats. The one was a fairly large ship and it looked like Swiss cheese. Why would you expend so much valuable resource on one ship?

And a 50 cal shell can weigh as mush as 800 grains or 1.6 ounces. Strand said the pirate boat was moving at +25 knots. For a boat to move at that speed carrying that amount of weight would need to be large and fast. None of those fishing boats fit the bill.

I thought that Daniel was going to be a long-term character, being the only one with the smarts to get along in the deadified world. That's probably why he had to go.

Yeah, I share your feelings about Alicia. Frankly, I'm not too fond of Nick either. The actor, to me, is trying too hard to channel Johnny Depp.

Then I found Z Nation

I agree, that came completely out of nowhere, doesn't make sense with all previous episodes of his character.

[QUOTE=Altair 4;18793399Frankly, I'm not too fond of Nick either. The actor, to me, is trying too hard to channel Johnny Depp.[/QUOTE]Can't stand him. He's like Depp with a genetically enlarged forehead. Although as he has figured out zombie-blood camouflage and is going out on solo missions, I'm starting to dig him more. Although seriously, how long is he going to wear the old-man clothes he stole from the hospital? (And how many times can that outfit get drenched in zombie guts and then just rinse perfectly clean?)

It was cool in the beginning to see it play out and how poorly it was handled. After it went down the show started to lose my interest pretty quickly. I'm holding out for TWD and Better Call Saul to come back on.
