I guess I'm late. The theme is Night Photography. Interpret that however you want.

City lights
Indoors
Astronomy
Do they have Southern Lights down under?
Cicadas
Light box

Have fun with it

Same rules as always :
-You must be the photographer
-One entry only
-Try making it an image from the last year.

Voting:
- Vote for your top 3
- Don't vote for yourself

I had to google that!

Its southern counterpart, the aurora australis (or the southern lights), has features that are almost identical to the aurora borealis and changes simultaneously with changes in the northern auroral zone

Yeah, that pretty much saves me from having to stay up late.

Beautiful shot cuda. I got the GPS unit for my camera that enables you to simulate an equatorial mount for astro-photography, but on my trip north there was a bright moon on all the clear nights. So this is the closest I can get to a night shot for now, you can deduct points if you like!

Gotta give credit where it's due...

cuda2k - What can I say? We obviously have a professional in our midst.

cOurt - Was that hand-held or tripod?

locolobo13 - Although I didn't like the subject matter, the photo is stunning.
